Every student learns differently, which is why I offer a variety of learning tracks to help each student focus on the skills and goals that are most meaningful to them. These tracks are not rigid programs, but flexible starting points that provide structure while allowing lessons to grow and change with each student. As their interests, abilities, and goals develop, we’ll build on their path together.

The Beginner Track is designed for students who are new to their instrument or still developing their fundamental skills. Lessons focus on creating positive playing habits while making the learning process engaging and rewarding.
Students will work on:
Instrument fundamentals and proper technique
Developing a healthy, confident sound
Music reading and rhythm
Basic scales and exercises
Building good practice habits
Exploring music in a fun and encouraging environment

Designed for students currently participating in school or community ensembles, this track focuses on the skills that help students thrive in a band setting.

Articulation and technique

Sight-reading

Preparation for school repertoire and performances

Auditions can be exciting, but they can also be intimidating. The Audition Track is designed to give students the preparation, tools, and confidence they need to perform at their best.
This track can support preparation for:
All-State and honor band auditions
Solo & Ensemble
Chair auditions
Competitions and other performance opportunities
Audition-specific repertoire
Sight-reading requirements
Mock auditions and performance preparation

For students who are ready for greater musical challenges, the Advanced Track provides an opportunity to explore more demanding repertoire and develop a deeper understanding of their instrument and musicianship.
Students will focus on:
Advanced repertoire
Technical development
Extended range and flexibility
Musical interpretation and expression
Improvisation
Advanced sight-reading
Solo and ensemble performance
Developing an individual musical voice

For students considering music at the collegiate level, the College Track provides individualized preparation for the transition from high school musician to college music student.
Depending on the student's goals, lessons may include:
College audition repertoire selection and preparation
Mock auditions
Prescreening recording preparation
Performance and audition strategy
Advanced repertoire

Developing independent musicianship
Preparing for the expectations of collegiate music study
These tracks are guides, not requirements. A student may begin as a beginner, transition into the Band Student Track, prepare for an All-State audition, and eventually pursue the College Track.
